Networking
The Chamber offers many opportunities to develop new
business relationships through participation in
events such as Business Networking Blasts, General Membership Breakfasts,
Small Business Roundtables, educational programs, trade shows and social events.
Referrals
The Chamber receives numerous inquiries for local
products and services. The inquiries come from phone calls, visits to the office
and through our Online
Business Directory. The Chamber averages 8,600 referrals per month through
the website alone. Referrals are made exclusively to member businesses.
The Business Viewpoint
Our monthly newsletter, The
Business Viewpoint, is distributed through the local daily newspaper, the
Times Herald-Record, giving it a circulation of more than 80,000. In addition,
it is mailed to all Chamber members and others who have asked to be put on our
mailing list. The newsletter
is also on the Chamber website. Members can place news about their business in
several different sections in the Viewpoint at no charge. With a
circulation of more than 83,000, the Viewpoint brings news about our

Advertising & Marketing Opportunities
The Chamber offers many ways to get the word out
about your business. You can place an ad or an insert in The Business
Viewpoint or an ad on the E-View, a biweekly e-mail newsletter sent out to
members. Members can purchase a mailing list or labels of Chamber members,
sponsor a General Membership Breakfast, Business Networking Blast, or any of our
special events such as EXPO, Small Buy Local Showcase, golf outings and
mixers. We also offer a
cooperative advertising program to members, providing discount advertising
opportunities on radio, cable television and in print.
Government Advocacy
As registered NYS Lobbyists, the Chamber President
and Vice President for Government Initiatives and Special
Projects work with state legislators to ensure that the voice of business is
heard in both legislative and regulatory matters impacting businesses. At the
federal level, the Chamber communicates with Congressional and U.S. Senators on
a regular basis to advocate on behalf of business in the region.
