Message from the Chairman of the Chamber’s
Government Initiatives and Education Committee

As
an independent contractor of a business located in Orange
County since 1991, I know firsthand how government impacts my bottom line
and the value of speaking up for my business. From the
dramatically rising costs of insurance – health and
property/casualty and liability – to local, state and federal
tax dollars – all of these can make a difference to our profit
margin. Keeping my business successful is important not just
to me, but to my employees and to the communities in which
they reside.
Each year, the Government Initiatives and Education
Committee of the Orange County Chamber develops a checklist of
key issues on which the Chamber will focus. We hold an annual
briefing for our state legislators, in addition to our Annual
Elected Officials Reception. Both events have been very useful
in providing an opportunity for our members to speak – face to
face - with their elected officials. Each year, a group
travels to Albany and Washington to meet with our delegation.
Take the time to join us in these and other important
efforts. Call, e-mail or write to the Chamber to keep us
informed and up to date on what matters most to your business.
Join us in speaking up for YOUR business.
